Betty Jane Hess

Betty Jane (BJ) Hess was senior vice president of Global Operations for Arrow Electronics, Inc., the world’s largest distributor of electronic components, until her retirement in 2004.  During her 37-year career at Arrow, she served in a variety of management and information technology positions, and participated in or directed all of Arrow’s system conversions, mergers and acquisitions. BJ serves on the board of directors of COTT Beverages and Philadelphia Biblical University. She participates as the case protagonist in Harvard Business School case studies on Arrow Electronics and speaks on leadership at executive seminars and universities. She received a B.S. degree from Philadelphia Biblical University, a master’s degree in business administration from Adelphi University, and an honorary doctor of laws degree from Adelphi University.
