Robert van Beers

Robert van Beers is chairman of the board of directors of Opportunity International’s Supporting Partner in Canada. He is a senior executive with extensive senior level experience in the energy and infrastructures sectors around the world. He has created, led, advised, managed and directed many companies in these sectors, contributing his inter-personal skills, his considerable network of contacts, his extensive industry experience and his personal drive and integrity. His focus areas have been infrastructure finance, commercialization/privatization and the direction of operational improvements. He has extensive experience in regulatory matters and in working at the intersection of the public and private sectors. He is presently Chief Operating Officer of Tonbridge Power Inc., a publicly-traded company developing a merchant cross-border transmission line between Alberta and Montana. He is also active in identifying, pursuing and validating infrastructure investment opportunities around the world
