Steve Williams

Head of Audit

Steve Williams is Opportunity International Network’s new head of audit. Steve comes to Opportunity with more than ten years of internal audit experience as a senior manager at Barclays. His most recent work was done in the U.K. mortgage and regulatory environments. Previously Steve was senior audit manager for Barclays in London, where he planned and led pan-African audit assignments. Before that, Steve was head of audit and audit manager at Barclays operations in Botswana and Kenya.
Steve and his wife attend St. Mary’s, a 900-year-old congregation that is part of the Church of England. Joining Opportunity was an easy decision, he says, “once I learned what Opportunity stood for and how I might make a difference. The organizational goals are so important, and if internal audit can help sustain positive outcomes for the poor, it will be enormously satisfying.”
