Association for Investment and Employment, Inc. (ASPIRE) began its operations in 1983, and since then has granted over 50,000 loans to small entrepreneurs, men and women, impacting their lives in a significant way not only with regard to the growth of their businesses but also to the life quality of their families. ASPIRE staff believe that the most efficient way to attack the root causes of poverty is by giving poor people the tools to progress in their small businesses. This means not only loaning people the working capital they need to expand their businesses, but also training them, based on Christian values, in basic business skills, encouraging good savings habits and helping them to attain personal growth through practical courses in basic business management, leadership training and peer support.
