Big congatulations to our colleagues at ASKI in the Philippines on winning the Environment, Social and Governance Award from Oikocredit for “Outstanding Achievement in Social Performance.”

In a letter announcing the award, Oikocredit stated,

“The award is being given in recognition of ASKI’s exemplary practices in social performance, integrating key environmental, social and governance factors into its microfinance operations. The criteria for the various award categories are primarily based on the scores garnered by the partner-MFIs in the Oikocredit ESG scorecard. ASKI’s scores in 2010 and 2011 qualified it for the Outstanding Achievement in Social Performance Award.”

The Oikocredit ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) Award is a formal recognition given by Oikocredit Southeast Asia to selected partners in the Philippines who have consistently exhibited exceptional institutional accomplishments in social performance. Oikocredit wishes to recognize excellence in social performance among partners so as to highlight and promote good practices in integrating the key environment, social and governance elements into MFI operations.
