
Connie Stryjak
Vice President Human Resources
Connie Stryjak is the Vice President of Human Resources. Connie serves as a member of the management team to develop organization strategy, key initiatives, business plans and direct all Human Resources programs to support overall business objectives. She ensures that the organization can attract, develop and retain key talent to successfully carry out organization mission and core Christian values. She also provides advice and counsel to leaders regarding organizational structure, work culture, performance management, reward systems, and organizational development.
Prior to her work with Opportunity International, Connie has worked in a number of management positions with three different companies. Beginning in 1976 through 1988 she worked for the Little Company of Mary Health Care Systems where she held three different positions as a Personnel Generalist, Compensation and Benefits Supervisor, and the Manager of Benefits and Records. In 1988 she moved on to work for the Administrative Management Group as a Consultant/Account Manager to approximately 45 clients for a variety of employee benefit programs. In 1991 Connie began working with GE Capital Railcar Services. From 1991 to 1992 she was the Manager of Pensions and Compensation and managed benefits and compensation functions for all of North America. In 1992 she became the Manager of Training and Development and was responsible for the training and development function for all of North America. After two years working in that position, Connie provided organization, staffing and employee relations’ support for Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Risk and IT as the Manager of Human Resources. From 1998 to 2000 she worked for GE Capital Aviation Services as the Vice President of Human Resources in Shannon, Ireland and provided HR leadership and services for managers and employees throughout Europe and Asia. She also served as a key member of the Reengineering Team while working as the VP of Human Resources.
Connie graduated in 1984 from Governors State University with a BA in Business and Personnel Management. She also has professional training and is a certified instructor for Zenger-Miller Frontline Leadership, Wilson Learning Innovation Series, DDI Techniques and Strategies, and Life Orientations (LIFO).
