Daryl Skoog

Vice President MIS Division

Daryl Skoog is the Vice President of the MIS Division. He provides strategic direction in the acquisition and deployment of core operating systems to support the portfolio management and accounting requirements for Micro Banking and NGO operations globally. He directs vendor and contractor services for systems in Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe.

From the time when Daryl joined Opportunity International in 2000 he has initiated the first global portfolio management system deployment in the Micro Enterprise Development industry with capabilities to support micro credit NGO and formal banking operations. He also provided 24/7 global supports for all deployed systems and supported the licensing and startup of banking operations in Ghana, Zambia, Malawi, Philippines, Montenegro, Albania and Serbia. In addition, Daryl has worked with operations supporting the deployment of 300,000 loans to the poorest of the working poor, generating 450,000 jobs.

Prior to his experience with Opportunity International, Daryl worked for the Federal Express Corporation in four different positions located in Tennessee, Belgium, and Colorado. In 1982 to 1991 he was the Managing Director of Systems Integration during which he provided database architecture and development support services. He was responsible for 20 managers and 250 employees, with a $10 million budget. From 1991 to 1996, he was the Managing Director for ITD in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He oversaw all computing and telecommunications technology development, deployment, operations, and maintenance/repair for customers and internal operations. In 1996 through 1998, Daryl served as the Vice President of ITD in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). As CIO for regional operations, he directed the development, deployment, operation and support of all computing and telecommunications technology for service to 107 countries. He also managed 90 employees in 9 international domiciles. His final position with the Federal Express Corporation was from 1998 to 1999 as the Vice President of Shipment Management Systems. In this position Daryl provided strategic direction in the development of core operating systems to support a worldwide package movement, ground operations, customer service, customs, and billing functions for a $13 billion organization. He managed 550 employees and an operating budget of $80 million.
