Robin Bell

Vice President

Robin Bell, Vice President collaborating on special projects, brings 23 years of global experience in micro and small enterprise banking to Opportunity International. She offers expertise in strategic planning, credit management, financial management, organizational restructuring, and staff development.

For the past 13 years, she has worked as a consultant with the DAI Group and most recently as President of Bellare Consulting, where she supported retail commercial banks and community-based non bank financial institutions worldwide.

Robin has researched and written articles for publication in the Small Enterprise Development Journal, U.S. Agency for International Development, and has been involved in USAID’s flagship micro-enterprise research projects. In 2002, Bell, Harper, and Mandivenga collaborated in writing, “Can Commercial Banks do Microfinance: Lessons from the Commercial Bank of Zimbabwe and The Co-operative Bank of Kenya,” published in the Small Enterprise Development Journal. Bell also co-wrote “Accomplishments and Future Challenges in Anti-Poverty Lending” and contributed to “Financial Management Ratios II: Analyzing for Quality and Soundness in Microcredit Programs,” both published in 1995 for the U.S. Agency for International Development.

Robin graduated from American University with a BA in International Relations, International Business and Finance and an MBA in Finance, American University in 1984 and 1987, respectively.
