Terry Winters

Terry is Chairman of Opportunity International Network, a global microfinance organization in 28 countries. He has served on various Opportunity International Boards as Director and/or Chairman in Australia and the US for over 14 years.

Terry is also currently Chairman of Australian Home Care Services Pty Ltd, Netcomm Limited, Converge International Limited and immediate past Chairman of Multiple Sclerosis Ltd and Protocom Development Systems Pty Ltd (now ActivIdentity Inc). He is also a director of Commander Communications Limited, Future Fibre Technologies Pty Ltd and Aerospace Engineering Services Pty Ltd .

Terry founded Link Telecommunications Pty Ltd in Australia in 1982 and was CEO and/or Chairman of Link at different times until 1999 when he sold his remaining interest in the company. He led the creation of Optus Communications Pty Ltd from 1989-1992 and remained on the Optus board until 1995. Prior to this, from 1972 to 1982, Terry worked in a number of senior executive roles for Motorola in Australasia and US.

Terry is a proactive person who likes to be involved in activities that make a difference and help this world become a better place. In his spare time he and his wife Merylyn operate Voice of the Vine Vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia. They have two married children and grandchildren and attend St Hilary’s Anglican Church in Melbourne.
