Support Partners are not-for-profit organizations in developed countries that raise money to support the activities of the Network Services Organization and Implementing Partners. There are currently five Support Partners located in Australia, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Implementing Partners identify eligible loan recipients, disburse loans, collect payments of principal, interest and fees, and provide training to individual borrowers within their countries. Some Implementing MFIs that are permitted by law also provide savings, insurance and other financial services to clients.
The Network Services Organization coordinates common strategy, provides technical consulting, coordinates communication and learning and manages investments made in Implementing Partners. The Network also administers a standards and accreditation process for its members to promote consistent quality standards throughout the organization. Each quarter, the Network compiles and disseminates financial and other reporting information on its member organizations.
When members join the Opportunity Network, they adopt a Covenant of Membership in which they agree to uphold the purpose of the Network, adhere to membership requirements and accreditation standards, pay dues, participate on boards of directors and committees, use the Opportunity International trademark in accordance with procedures established by the Network and supply financial and reporting information that is accurate, transparent and timely.
All members uphold to Opportunity’s core values of respect, integrity, stewardship and commitment to the poor.
