Before joining an Opportunity International Trust Group, Osiris Medrano had to borrow money just to buy food. But now, after seven loan cycles with Opportunity, her leather-goods business has nearly tripled. And she can afford to buy healthy food and school uniforms for her children.
Loans have also allowed Osiris to buy equipment to expand her business, even to the point of adding an employee. And Opportunity’s practical training has sharpened her business savvy. But beyond important business aptitude, Trust Group meetings have given Osiris key skills in other areas of her life, including raising her three children. “I try to guide them in the correct way,” she says. “I always take them to church.”
